Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day
Posted September 19th, 2007 by mainYou know, you should all be celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day. I went and got a special Drupal module for the occasion -- written by Richard of Bryght.
I hope you all enjoy!
Apple charging admission to Apple Stores...
Posted July 23rd, 2007 by d_arnoldApple is starting to charge admission to its stores ($5 to be exact) to lessen foot traffic and to dissuade people who aren't buying from entering. This article talks more about it.
My favorite quote is this:
Not everyone was pleased though. Kyle Martin said, "Five dollars to just walk into the store? It's like they want to be elite snobs or something."
When told of the criticism, Sciopiano said, "That's exactly the case."
Burying 'nigger'
Posted July 20th, 2007 by d_arnoldThe NAACP decided to engage in their first relevant act of the new millenium (truly, what have they done?) and it's...burying the word "nigger"?
Today...
Posted July 14th, 2007 by mainToday, I turn 31. Wow.....
Bon Anniversaire, France!
There comes a time when you look at your life and you have one of two outcomes. You look and say, "I have accomplished a lot but there's more to come." or "What have I really done?". At 31 years of age, I wish I could say the first but I feel more of the second.
Over the last year since I turned the big 3-0, I have been considerably more self-reflective. It seems that today, as I celebrate my 31st birthday, I feel this even more.
I have made...
Posted July 8th, 2007 by main...a terrible mistake.
I thought that Fox (aka Faux) News couldn't go any lower.
I was wrong.
Some wingnuts over there believe that Mr. Rogers, a personal hero of mine and probably the most staunch advocate for children's television ever, was a negative influence on children.
Music Videos 2.0
Posted June 21st, 2007 by mainA hip-hop group who I happen to like by the name of Tanya Morgan (yes, Tanya Morgan is not some random R & B starlet). The group consists of members Donwill and Ilyas (collectively known as Donwill) and Von Pea so they are technically a supergroup.
Donwill hails from Cincinnati and Von Pea hails from Brooklyn, NY. The first clip is the video and the second is the director's commentary.
This video is an extremely creative simulation/parody of MySpace...not to mention that it's an ass-kicking song.
Senate Bill 117
Posted June 12th, 2007 by mainAs Bill Callahan suggested, I e-mailed my congressman about Senate Bill 117. Here is what I wrote:
Why I love Drupal
Posted May 19th, 2007 by mainLast weekend, I went to Drupal Camp Toronto II. Not only did I get to spend a weekend in a beautiful city (Toronto is a world-class city and it's almost a One Tank Trip-- I hope Neil Zurcher doesn't sue me for that) but I got some good insight into Drupal. I found out a few things:
- I am not the only guy named Derek that seems to think that multi-site Drupal is fun (thanks Derek)
